Memorandum of Understanding Between Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, Industries and Mines Department, Government of Gujarat and Nobel Media AB

 

Trilateral MoU to facilitate collaboration& innovation in the area of science, drawing inspiration, experience and knowledge from Nobel Media AB

 

Secretary in the Department Biotechnology of the Government of India Dr. Vijayraghavan and Mr. P.K. Taneja, Additional Chief Secretary, Industries and Mines Department, Government of Gujarat led a delegation to Sweden for signing of an important trilateral Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Nobel Media AB on September 1, 2016.  The MoU was signed by Dr. Lars Heikensten, Executive Director ofthe Nobel Foundation on behalf of Nobel Media AB.  This MoU provides for collaboration on a programme to popularize science and its impact  within India by drawing on the experience and expertise of the Nobel Media AB in sharing with a global audience the inspiration of the Nobel Prize, recognized universally as the pinnacle of excellence in science.  This will be done by jointly organizing Nobel Prize Seriesevents in India commencing from January 2017 during the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summint, in which a number of Nobel Laureates are expected to participate.

 

This important MoU is expected to inspire the youth in India to pursue innovation, which has been identified by the Governments of India and Sweden as one of the principal focus areas of bilateral cooperation.
