Ajmer, November 30, 2011: Nikon India, the 100% subsidiary of Nikon Corporation, leaders in imaging technology, inaugurated its first COOLPIX zone in the city today. The COOLPIX Zone gives access to the entire range of Nikon COOLPIX cameras and select range of D-SLR cameras to the customers and gives them an opportunity to ‘touch, feel and experience’ the world-class products before they make a purchase decision. The company has adopted the shop-in-shop retail concept to reach out to its growing customer base.

The zone was inaugurated by Mr. Hiroshi Takashina, Managing Director, Nikon India. Other senior members from the Nikon India headquarters were also present to grace the occasion.

At the inauguration of the Zone, Mr. Hiroshi Takashina, Managing Director, Nikon India said, “The digital imaging industry has seen exponential growth over the past few years. We have witnessed a significant demand for affordable yet power packed digital cameras from North India and expect the trend to continue. Rajasthan is an important market for us and with this Zone we hope to expand our reach to more customers. With an increase in purchasing power of households and advancement in technology, our biggest priority at Nikon India is to provide world class products to our customers.”

In keeping with this retail plan, Mr. Sajjan Kumar Division General Manager, Imaging Products, Nikon India said, “We plan to hire over 350 store promoters who will be well trained to further improve the buying experience for our customers. The company has already set up 87 COOLPIX and D-SLR zone in India so far in cities like Delhi, Bangalore, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Coimbatore, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Allahabad, Roorkee, Agra, Dehradun, Bhubaneswar, Visakhapatnam, Chandigarh, Kochi, Jalandhar, Patiala, Meerut, Ambala, Ludhiana, Sirsa, Cochin, Rajkot, Gaya, Shimla, Nashik, Raipur, Trivandrum, Vijayawada, Bhopal, Sangli, Baroda & Surat, Behrampur to name a few while some more are in pipeline.”

The D-SLR Zone is located at Rajasthan Agencies, Amar Plaza, Ground Floor, Daulat Bagh Road, Ajmer.
