Dehradun: Ashok Leyland, the flagship Company of the Hinduja Group, enhanced its operations in Uttarakhand with the inauguration of its first ever dealer outlet in the state capital, Dehradun.

VinayakAshok Leyland will be the new dealer,covering – apart from Dehradun – Haridwarand Saharanpur (in UP). The new dealership includes a sales facility at Transport Nagar and a 3S set-up on NH 72-Saharanpur Road – built on more than 4500 sqft area.

“Ashok Leyland’s most modern manufacturing plant was set up in Pantnagar last year and is already setting benchmarks in production and shopfloor practices in the state. Our presence in Uttarakhand is only set to grow much further and I am glad we now have a footprint in Dehradun” said Mr V S Ravichandran, GM-North, Ashok Leyland.

This new set-up – second in Uttarakhand and 387th in the country – would also provide the much needed service support for Ashok Leyland vehicles in the region. A brand new ‘LeypartsShoppe’ – first such in North India – has also been opened in Transport Nagar to serve as a one-stop solution for complete range of Leyparts. Besides catering to Leyparts requirements of vehicles of Uttaranchal, the Shoppe will serve the huge floating population of vehicles passing through the territory.

Mr Ravichandran further added: “The positional advantage of a city like Dehradun which serves as a base area for supplies uphill and the positive response of the market to our tippers and ICV products are quite encouraging and we plan to capitalize on these factors by providing best-in-class transport solutions and services.”

He emphasized the Company’s focus on the development of the network in northern markets. In UP alone, expansions have taken place through new dealer touch points at Sultanpur, Jhansi, Varanasi and Shahjahanpur this year. The network is set to grow further with new dealer touch points at Moradabad, Muzaffarnagar,Bareilly, Lucknow, Gorakpur, Agra, Mathura in UP and Rewari in Haryana shortly.
